I'M Care

A Registered Integrative Dietitian specializing in Functional Nutrition. 

Over the last decade, I have helped other wild-hearted souls like you beat their symptoms with wholesome foods and powerful nutrients. Together, we took a more holistic approach to their overall health. One that would stop stockpiling pills that may have contributed to more side effects and not much resolution.

I often get a lot of questions about my nutrition background, so here’s a little snippet on how the Wild-Hearted Dietitian came to be!

Received my Graducate Certificate in Food and Nutrition Science and completed an American Dietetic Aproved Intership from Bowling Green State University. 

Attended 3 day live seminar on Mastering Brain Chemistry to help recognize patterns of imbalances and improve clinical outcomes. 

Received advanced training in Adult Weight Management from Commission on Dietetic Registation, ADA
Became a certified LEAP Therapist (CLT) in food allergies, sensitivities and intolerances

One of my favorite things to do is hit up some fun classes with my BFF's! I’m an avid dancer (love hip hop!), and you can often find me toning my body in barre, squatting some weights for a firm booty, biking around the lakes in uptown, or walking along the paths of the Mississippi.

If I'm not striking a dance move or manifesting on my yoga mat, then I'm in the kitchen whipping up some new gut-healing, immune-boosting recipes! I get so excited creating dishes stuffed full of antioxidants that satisfy the taste buds. What’s even better is they’re free of common sensitivities and intolerance's.

Helping other wild-hearted souls find their hidden triggers has been an inspirational journey. I’m truly blessed to spend my days encouraging peeps like you and working with amazing clients. But if I had never experienced my crazy symptoms, I wouldn't be the type of dietitian I am today!

Irritated Skin & Blemishes

Unexplained weigh gain

For some time, I struggled with the same symptoms that I’d spent years and thousands of dollars learning to manage with my Nutrition and Dietetics degree!

I gained some weight, and no matter how many new classes I added to my gym routine, I couldn’t shake it. On top of that, I had all these digestive issues emerging. I was super embarrassed, and I felt like I couldn’t talk to anyone about it (because talking about poo and how often you go a day is not that sexy).

But I knew it was a sign that something else was up - because my energy levels had tanked, and I was dragging myself to work, and sometimes even to my favorite workouts.

All these things I used to love were no longer filling me with joy!

I desperately wanted to avoid being labeled a yo-yo dieter and didn’t want to draw any attention to the different fad diets I was seeking for answers.

I certainly didn’t want to stop doing the things that I loved like breaking out a fun move in hip hop, wearing new heels for salsa, or trying to master another yoga sun salutation.

I also didn’t want to miss out on hanging with friends or family, going to restaurants and on trips because the digestive issues were starting to bother me all of the time.

Constantly worrying about bloating and the stomach aches were already hard enough. But things got overwhelming when I started to focus on counting calories and all the diets that were out there to try.

The whole time this was going on, I was getting more frustrated, filling my cabinet with a laundry list of the latest cream, pill, or product on the market for my blemishes, rashes, nausea, gas, constipation, and diarrhea. All of these quick fixes just left me with more side effects and still no resolution.

Ugh! I just wanted to eat without symptoms, fit back into my favorite skinny jeans and start living a normal life again.

After all that schooling, I spent hours researching in textbooks and even started googling my symptoms on the internet. I went to my conventional doctor many times, but just another medication was suggested to tackle my symptoms.

Can you blame me when every time this happened, I got more and more down?

These symptoms, they just weren't the real ME…I knew that I was a fun, adventurous, outgoing person. NOT a bloated, tired, sick gal who had to take yet another pill to get through the day ( talking about you gas-x and beano).

Not to mention, I’d already spent six years on my degree studying nutrition. I thought I was eating everything right (READ: counting carbs down to the exact servings of the recommended fruits, veggies, whole grains, dairy plus obsessing over calories from protein and fat). I was at a loss and didn’t understand why I couldn’t even help myself when it counted.

There was one thing that I was confident of, I didn’t want to bounce from med to med. I was more intrigued by how I could heal my body naturally and in a more holistic way.

But you know what? Destiny is a crazy thing.

When I started taking some very specialized courses in integrative nutrition and functional medicine, I had no idea how valuable the information would be. And I certainly didn’t know how beneficial it would prove to be for future clients!

These classes and certifications eventually led to overwhelming success. Finally, after trial and error, I put the crazy puzzle pieces together and learned how to heal my body holistically.

Once I received advanced training in this area, I started to understand gut health, toxins, and strengthening the overall immune system. This approach helped me identify a variety of holistic modalities to recover optimal health. I was able to take back my fun and adventurous life by using anti-inflammatory foods, botanicals, individualized micro-nutrients, environmental and lifestyle changes. And I went on to show thousands of others how to do the same.

I have been sharing this knowledge with women like you who have struggled with similar inflammatory symptoms for the last decade. Now you don’t have to miss out on your favorite wild activities and can finally live your next adventure symptom-free!
